Libertees was born from the dream of two women, Daniela Queiroga and Marcella Mafra. Together, they bet on fashion as an instrument of social transformation, providing women in prison with the opportunity to give new meaning to their trajectory and rescue their self-esteem.

2013

Marcella Mafra takes over the command of Libertees within the Estevão Pinto Female Penitentiary Complex

September 2017

Marcella Mafra got to know the inmates’ work in art classes. Thus was born the idea of transforming paintings into prints.

September 2017

The Libertees fashion brand comes to life with the participation of Daniela Queiroga as a partner.

October 2017

The brand is invited to launch its first collection at Minas Trend Fashion Week and wins 3rd place in the “Ready to Go” contest.

April 2018

The 2019 summer collection 2019 once again lands Libertees 3rd place in the contest “Ready To Go.”

May 2018

Libertees holds its first fashion show inside the penitentiary with the inmates themselves wearing and displaying their creations.

August 2019

Opening of the brand’s first showroom.

February 2020

The new showroom is opened at Co-Crie, a collaborative space designed to accelerate fashion businesses.

March 2020

Launch of the institutional website and e-commerce, celebrating the brand’s new phase.
